Get Involved

There's a place for you in COCAP.

Committees, events, mentorship, and leadership.

COCAP is shaped by the people who take part in it. Whether you have an hour a month or want to help lead, there is a way to contribute to better care for Oregon's young people.

Committees

Two committees, now forming

Committees are where much of COCAP's work happens. Each is open to members and guided by the board.

Program Committee

Shape what COCAP teaches

Plans COCAP's education events and programs, including the spring education program, and helps choose topics, speakers, and formats. Led by Program Chair Karina España, MD.

A good fit if you enjoy shaping clinical education, have speakers or topics in mind, or want to help build an annual program from the ground up.

Mentorship and Education Committee

Help the next generation start strong

Builds mentorship and career development for fellows, residents, medical students, and early-career psychiatrists, from one-on-one connections to career events.

A good fit if you have mentored or supervised trainees, remember what helped you early on, or care about who will care for Oregon's kids next.

A path toward leadership

Involvement grows into leadership

COCAP keeps its board small and builds leadership from the ground up. Members who take part and show they want to contribute are the people the board looks to when seats open.

Directors serve three-year terms, up to three terms, so there is regular room for new leaders.

Nominate yourself, a colleague, or a program doing great work for young people in Oregon. Families and young people are welcome to thank a doctor or program that helped them, too. We share shout-outs on COCAP's social media, and we always check with the person or program first.
